Therapeutic Drumming sessions begin

Friday, 9th April 2010

After a successful taster session we have started running monthly drum sessions for psychiatric inpatients at one of our local hospitals.

We're hoping to start similar sessions at two other hospitals in the area.

Why drumming?

Percussion lifts spirits, promotes self-esteem and eases feelings of isolation.

Focusing on rhythm promotes relaxation and helps reduce anxiety and frustration.

We believe very strongly in the therapeutic qualities of music. Contact us if you'd us to visit your group!

Doing the rounds

Tuesday, 12th May 2009

Last week saw me yacking away about drumming on BBC Radio Lancashire afternoon show with Gilly. I have to confess I assumed Gilly was female until I did a bit of research! We talked a bit then we after a bit of a practise played a bit with Gilly and his producer.

Then this week it's been the turn of Rebeca Want on BBC Radio Manchester to plunge into live drumming on the airwaves!

Barnados Big Toddle

Tuesday, 5th August 2008

We were delighted to asked back to Barnados Big Toddle at the end of June in Heaton Park Manchester. What a great day it is! The little ones bash the living daylights out of the drums, go for a bit a walk, more bashing, a biscuit, a drink, a story then off for a nap. Fabulous fun for all who came down. See you next year I hope!
